INSTALLATION
Epoxy floors are a cost effective solution that can be achieved in pretty much any kind of surface, in fact it is highly recommended for damaged concrete slabs due to its durability and no maintenance required.
Epoxy floors are installed by previously grinding the concrete in order to achieve the scratch pattern and the porosity required for the material to soak in and bond properly into the concrete. Generally, the first coat is the Prime Coat (100% solids epoxy resin), which acts as a moisture and vapor barrier that prepares our concrete slab for the next step of the process. In cases where the concrete slab is too porous and sandy, up to #2 coats of Prime Coat (100% solids epoxy resin) needs to be applied.
Next up is the Base Coat (100% solids epoxy resin). This next Epoxy Base Coat fills the rest of the slab giving us complete coverage of the floor anda more consistet colour. If Flaked System is being installed, the next step would be the broadcast of the vinyl flakes. This Flake Broadcast coating provides much more protection and also acts as a decorative finish that can always be personalized and chosen by the customer. The final stage is the Clear Top Coat, which is going to add even more protection to our floors. When light foot traffic is expected, it is highly recommended to use Polyurethane as clear Top Coat, and for car traffic such as garages, warehouses, etc it is highly recommended to use Polyaspartic Clear Top Coat.
