INSTALLATION PROCESS

Grind & Seal floors are a cost effective solution that can be achieved by concrete grinding the surface in order to expose the aggregate that is on the slab.

Generally, once the concrete grinding process starts, possible holes and cracks are going to appear and they need to be patched and grind flat again in order to achieve a consistent and smooth surface before continuing with the next step of the Grind & Seal process.

The levels of exposure could be: Nil Exposure (light grind to clean the surface )Salt & Pepper (a bit further grinding to be able to see small stones in the aggregate)

Mid Exposure or Random exposure (a bit more grinding to be able to see bigger stones with random consistency)

Full Exposure (maximum exposure of the aggregate to be able to see big stones in the aggregate throughout the whole floor)A full exposed concrete slab is not always achievable in old concrete slabs since most of them were not poured to be fully exposed or grinded.

Most of the old slabs were meant to be for tiles or carpet, for this reason, fully exposed concrete slab can’t be guaranteed in every situation. The finish can be Glossy, Matte, Satin, UV stable, slip resistant, depending on the purpose of the floor.
